To Be Expected

Sometimes the simple facts say enough.  This from a fairly decent editorial in today’s NYT:

A rule will be passed requiring that every bill cite its basis in the Constitution.  A bill will be introduced to repeal the health care law.  On Thursday, the Constitution will be read aloud in the House chamber.  And in one particularly self-important flourish, the new speaker, John Boehner, arranged to have his office staff “sworn in” on Tuesday by the chief justice of the United States.

This is all part of the “essentialist” interpretation of the Constitution.  It’s as if the past amendments to the same upset the GOP as well.  And just when The IP started thinking about that notion, the editorial spoke for him:

“Certainly the Republican leadership is not trying to suggest that
African-Americans still be counted as three-fifths of a person.”

Sometimes you wonder if that snarky comment might hold some truth.  Oh, and the name of the bill they are going to introduce:

“Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act”

Ugh.  This is worse than all those dead birds falling out of the sky.  Maybe these events are related.

And then there’s that orange guy:

Talk about a cold and dreary Winter.

Name the species of bird, get a prize.

Beachgoers at Little Bay and Waikawau Bay found the fish – many with their eyes missing – dead on the sand yesterday.

  1. Dr. Kinbote Says:

All federal agencies which might have jurisdiction in this matter issued a joint statement that (a) there is no funding available, & (b) these elderly were on the brink of death in any case , & their immune system was unable to cope with what is undoubtedly a toxin well below the permissable level.
No local agencies will bother with an investigation.
A group of older persons calling themselves Enraged Seniors (caustically refered to by some of thr local media as “The Old Farts” issurd a statement today saying that they intend to bring a negligence suit against the Federal Depattment of Health & Human Services,.
